GIVE is proud to have hosted five Art Projects since May 2024 - a vibrant, four-week journey of creativity, connection, and community. 

 

Under the expert guidance of art tutors Meredyth Eve (Project 1) Sunita Khedekar (Projects 2 - 6), participants came together in a safe, supportive, and fully accessible space to explore art as a means of self-expression and emotional wellbeing.

 

 Over the course of the projects, we celebrated five different themes: 

​

• Project 1: Community – Participants created individual artworks that reflected their own ideas and experiences, which were then brought together to form one collective piece, highlighting connection, collaboration, and the strength of community.

​

• Project 2: Mandala Art – A calming and meditative experience, participants explored symmetry, colour, and pattern to create their own stunning mandalas, tapping into mindfulness through art.

​

• Project 3: Easter – We embraced the joy and renewal of the Easter season by designing and decorating Easter-themed boxes full of colour, warmth and creativity. 

​

• Project 4: Nature – Participants decorated plant pots with nature-inspired designs, using colours and patterns drawn from the outdoors. Each person took their pot home along with seeds to plant, combining creativity with growth and a hands-on connection to nature.

• Project 5: Autumn – We explored autumn colours and textures by creating mixed-media magnets inspired by the season. Using layered materials and warm tones, participants crafted unique pieces reflecting the feeling of autumn to display at home.

Whether participants were seasoned artists or just beginning their creative journey, each person brought something special to the group. More than just an art course, this project fostered genuine friendships, reduced feelings of loneliness and reminded us all of the healing power of community and creativity.
